Packroute reviews the gear and services a trip actually depends on, and says plainly whether each one is worth your trip budget.
Who writes the reviews
Every review is written by The Packroute Test Desk, a small team that packs, books and flies with a product before writing a word about it. Reviews carry the desk's name rather than a personal byline because each one is checked by more than one person before it goes live.
We write for someone planning a real trip on a real budget. That means prices in the currency the maker quotes, limits you will run into at a gate or a claims desk, and a clear answer at the end.
What we review
The site is organised into 7 categories:

Why every review has a score
A score out of 10 lets you compare a carry-on with a backpack, or one insurer with another, on one scale. The rankings list every review by that score. Products that fail on the road are marked down even when they look good online.

Independence
Makers do not see a review before it is published and cannot buy a score. If a link on the site ever earns us money, the page will say so next to the link. Reviews are opinions based on hands-on use; they are not insurance, legal or financial advice.
